EMPLOYEES of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources have completed certificate courses in Human Resource Management and Financial Management offered by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Institute for Continuing and Professional Development.

The collaboration between PUP Open University System and DENR allowed 50 pilot scholars to undergo intensive training.

“The certificate courses aimed to enhance the employees’ competencies and leadership skills, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and practices in their respective fields,” PUP said.

“The program, which commenced in September 2022 and concluded in April 2023, saw 25 trainees completing each course,” it added.

The University said that the “graduates” view their training “as a time of enrichment, as they have acquired a solid theoretical foundation to support their everyday practice.”

“They believe that their newly acquired knowledge and skills will increase their chances of promotion to higher positions within the organization,” it added.

During the closing program, DENR Undersecretary Augustus Dela Peña highlighted the significance of leading a diverse workforce in the human resource department and managing resources wisely in financial management.

He encouraged public servants to be responsive, relevant and resilient in their service to the country.
