DEMAND FOR CLOUD TALENT UP
AS MORE companies in the country adapt to new technology, the demand for cloud talents are on the rise, according to technology expert Jonathan Que.
“Today, all enterprise companies are looking for cloud talents and are hiring them at a premium,” Que said during the GOAL Keepers webinar hosted by iACADEMY on June 11.
“This is not a fad, not a trend,” the country manager and director of eCloudValley Technology said.
In the last decade, a significant number of pioneering companies in the Philippines adopted new technologies and contemporary approaches to businesses. Cloud Computing, the game-changing system that provided digital solutions and delivery of IT services to these companies, created opportunities and a remarkable demand for cloud computing professionals.
Que shared an experience in Amazon Web Services where over 75 applicants were interviewed but only one cloud talent was hired.
With this scarcity, Que said that a huge opportunity for cloud talents in the Philippines is untapped.
“Cloud talents are one of the hardest resources to find in the Philippines today,” he said.
While the cloud industry is open for all IT and Computer Science majors, Que said that having a certification from Amazon Web Services dramatically increases the value of a cloud talent in terms of job opportunities, salary and career improvement.
iACADEMY is the first educational institution in the Philippines to offer Amazon Web Services Cloud Computing Certification Courses.
