/ 17 June 2021

THE DAVAO Oriental State University will turn its newly built dormitory into a temporary quarantine and isolation facility to help the local government address cases of Covid19.

The university partnered with the city government of Mati to house patients with mild symptoms.

DORSU President Roy G. Ponce said that universities play a crucial role in helping the government fight the pandemic.

He added that all sectors had to lend a hand so that the country can heal as one.

The university’s gymnasium and Learning Information and Resource Center are being used as vaccination hubs.

As of Tuesday, the City of Mati had 74 active Covid19 cases.
