THE DAVAO Oriental State University is poised to sign an agreement with the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office for collaborations in academic, research and extension engagements for its criminology program.
The university announced on Wednesday that Col. Efren E. Orlina, acting provincial director, held a dialogue with university officials about the planned partnership.
It added that the director expressed eagerness to assist the university’s criminology program in areas like reducing crime rates, enhancing policing systems and providing appropriate interventions to rape victims.
Dr. Roy G. Ponce, university president, aired his support for the collaboration.
The two institutions will formally enter a pact next month.
Meanwhile, the university has also renewed its ties with the legislative body of the City of Mati.
