DAVAO ORIENTAL STATE U PARTNERS WITH THERA-ABLE OCCUPATIONAL CENTRE
THE DAVAO Oriental State University partnered with the Thera-able Occupational Centre for the deployment of its pre-service teachers.
A memorandum of agreement was signed between DOrSU president Dr. Roy Ponce and the owner of TOC Chrismarie Dacullo over the weekend.
Through the agreement, pre-service teachers under the FTED – Bachelor of Special Needs Education Program will have teachers opportunities to observe and enhance teaching skills for children with special needs.
It will also help them understand the challenges of actual teaching and develop the skills to handle diverse special needs situations.
“This initiative of the BSNEd program, led by Mr. Robie V. Catubigan, aligns with the university’s vision of inclusion, which highlights respect and equal opportunities for all,” DOrSU said.
“Furthermore, DORSU Founder and DOrSU Board of Regents Member Hon. Joel Almario expressed his support for this program of DOrSU. He mentioned that this program benefits all individuals with special needs as it provides an equal opportunity to access quality education,” it added.
Thera-able Occupational Centre is a Children’s Developmental and Neurorehabilitation facility that caters to students with special needs.
It offers Early Detection and Intervention classes, one-on-one tutorials, shadow teaching, developmental classes, and Speech & Language Therapy.
