DAVAO ORIENTAL STATE U OFFICIALS STRESS IMPORTANCE OF WIKANG FILIPINO
OFFICIALS of the Davao Oriental State University emphasized the importance of Wikang Filipino as the country observes National Language Month.
DOrSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Cheryll Bautista said that language reflects the identity of the entire country.
“Ang Wika ay pag-iisip ng bayan,” Bautista said.
Vice President for Administrative Affairs Dr. Roy Padilla, who represented DOrSU President Roy Ponce, said that language is a “man’s guide to more meaningful interactions.”
Meanwhile, Rey Comania, president of the University Student Council of DOrSU, announced the holding of contests throughout the month of August aimed at spreading the language in the consciousness of the Filipino people.
