THE DAVAO Oriental State University held a groundbreaking ceremony for its hydroponics greenhouse on its Marfori campus.

DorSu said the project will be established at the DOrSU Demo Farm in Marfori, Brgy. Don Enrique Lopez in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

It aims to enhance local crop production and ensure food security in the region.

“Furthermore, the facility will function as a research and demonstration site, focusing on hydroponic production techniques for various crops,” the school said.

“It will also serve as a training venue for technical staff, local technicians, and farmer leaders to enhance their skills in utilizing this advanced agricultural technology,” it added.

The project is in partnership with the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI.
