PROFESSORS from Cebu Technological University earned top honors at the International Extension Conference organized by the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc.

Dr. Sylvester Cortes won the 1st Best Paper Award under the Education and Development Studies category for his study, “Impact Evaluation of a Four-year Professional Development Program for Science Teachers Aimed at Designing, Implementing, and Publishing Participatory Action Research Projects.”

Dr. Anne Lorca received the 2nd Best Paper Award in the Culture, Social, and Behavioral Studies category for her research, “Does Training Improve the Action Research Skills of STEM Teachers? Examining the Mediating Roles of Attitude and Knowledge.”

Themed “Global Perspectives: Cultivating Cultural Diversity and Community Empowerment for a Prosperous Future,” the conference was held at Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, last week.

The PAEPI conference serves as a platform for collaboration among private sectors, industry players, academic institutions, research organizations, and extension service providers, fostering partnerships that support ASEAN-driven initiatives for community empowerment.
