COMMUNITY PANTRY OPENS AT LETRAN COLLEGE
THE COLEGIO de San Juan de Letran has called upon its community to add stocks for its community pantry to provide free food supplies to the poor.
In a post on Facebook, CSJL said “Mesa ni San Martin” will be operational starting on April 20 and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It said that donors may drop off their in-kind donations at the gate of the school or send cash donations via GCash at 09561703743.
Questions can be sent to [email protected].
The community pantry follows the example set by the Maginhawa Community Pantry in Quezon City, started by furniture designer Anna Patricia Non, and is being replicated among various locations in the country.
A community pantry was also set up by a Far Eastern University student.
Angelee Grace Nebab, a third year psychology student, said that the community pantry was set up in Oxford Street, Cubao, Quezon City.
“Actually, with or without the pandemic, I used to give packed foods or canned goods to the people who are in need especially those who are in the streets,” she said.
