CLSU STUDENTS, TEACHERS BAG AWARDS IN INT’L RESEARCH CONFERENCE

HIGH School students and faculty members of the Central Luzon State University were victorious in the National Organization of Science Teachers and Educators International Research Conference, Training Workshops, and Biennial Convention.

University Science HS teacher Karen Jean Barcelita won first place for her work “Recurring Symbols, Motifs, and Images in Literature as Projections of Unconscious Desires, Wounds, or Unresolved Conflicts: A Scientific Viewpoint of Literature in Understanding Human Unconsciousness.”

Meanwhile, Grade 12 student Maren Tomas secured the 3rd Best Paper and 3rd Best Oral Presenter awards being the presenting author of her group’s paper “Navigating Cultural Waters: Intercultural Competence and Experiences of SEA Teachers in Laboratory High School.”

Grade 12 students Jared Clarence Hilario and Princess Stephanie Rayray also presented their studies under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Joseph Villarama.

Themed “Science as a Tool for Teaching Numeracy and Literacy,” the three-day international conference was attended by science teachers, educators and students from all over the Philippines.

The event was a partnership project of NOSTE, Inc. with Central Luzon State University, West Visayas State University, Bacolod City National High School and STI West Negros University in collaboration with the Province of Negros Occidental, the City of Bacolod, Negros Residences and Mambukal Resort.
