CHED, PALAWAN STATE U INKS PACT TO INCREASE NUMBER OF DOCTORS
THE Palawan State University and the Commission on Higher Education have inked a pact to help produce more healthcare workers in the province in the future.
A memorandum of agreement was signed between the two parties for the implementation of the Republic Act No. 11509 or the Doktor Para sa Bayan Act.
The bill aims to establish medical schools in provinces, where students can serve in government offices, hospitals, or municipalities after graduation.
“This program is designed to support exceptional medical students in pursuing their education and training in the field of health and medicine,” PalawanSU posted on Facebook.
“By providing quality medical education and training, the School of Medicine aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve the health needs of the local population,” it added.
The university also added that its School of Medicine is the first one in the province and the MIMAROPA region since its establishment in 2023.
PalawanSU President Dr. Ramon Docto and CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director, Atty. Joselito Alisuag represented their respective institutions on January 24, 2024 at the PalawanSU Hostel.
