COMMISSION on Higher Education Chairman Prospero De Vera III visited the Xavier University in Cagayan De Oro to see to it that the institution is ready to implement face-to-face classes for its School of Medicine.

De Vera was accompanied by Region X Director Raul Alvarez and Atty. Ryan Estevez, the Executive Director of UNIFAST.

XU President Fr. Mars Tan thanked CHED for allowing the university to hold physical classes for medicine students.

He also shared the intent of the university to be a vaccination center.

De Vera and his group visited various regions to promote and monitor the implementation of various CHED programs, projects and initiatives.

The CHED chief said that he believes that higher educational institutions are expert universities that spring out innovations in times of crisis.

“The root of flexible learning is allowing HEIs to determine what is the most appropriate way that they will let learning continue on the ground because they are geographically different in location, capacity is different, their students, faculty, and situations are different,” he said.
