A PROFESSOR from the Centro Escolar University was hailed as the Outstanding Teacher in Oncology this year by the Philippine Society of Oncology.

Dr. Roel Tolentino was recognized for his “exceptional ability to inspire, enlighten and guide aspiring oncologists on their journey toward a profound understanding of cancer care, research and patient advocacy.”

Tolentino is also the chairman of the Department of Surgery at the CEU School of Medicine.

“He embodies the qualities of an educator, not merely imparting knowledge but also instilling core values of compassion, ethics, and unwavering commitment to excellence,” CEU said.

“Beyond his academic endeavors, he wears many hats, including those of a business and leadership coach, health and personality coach, radio, TV and lay educator, social entrepreneur, professional marriage counselor, clinical researcher, scientific writer, business consultant, and professional life coach,” it added.

Established in 1964, the PSO is devoted to the integration of various disciplines in the study and treatment of cancer. It has 267 members.
