CEU PARTNERS WITH ASIAN EYE INSTITUTE

/ 7 October 2023

TO boost its academic and community outreach programs, the School of Optometry of the Centro Escolar University partnered with the Asian Eye Institute.

A memorandum of agreement was recently signed between key officials of CEU and AEI.

The partnership aims to advance knowledge, innovation and societal welfare through collaborative efforts in instruction, research and extension services.

Asian Eye Institute President Joaquin Quintos IV said that this agreement is a reboot, since they already had an agreement before the pandemic.

“We are very excited about this partnership. This is really a start of a long-term mutually beneficial partnership between two leaders in the eye care industry, as we both share in our vision and mission improving the overall health care in the Philippines,” Asian Eye Institute President Joaquin Quintos IV said.

CEU President and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina said that the collaboration is important because the academe “should respond to what is required in the industry.”

“We also like that the industry would in turn inform us what they need from our graduates and also help us carry out our mission,” Padolina added.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Elena Borromeo, Dean CEU’s School of Optometry; Atty. Jayson Ramos, University Legal Counsel; Dr. Sherwin William Suarez, Assistant to the Dean School of Optometry; School of Optometry faculty members; Dr. Patricia Dimanlig-Manuel, Senior Vice President of Asian Eye Institute, and other officers.
