THE  CENTRO Escolar University  has regained leadership in the Speech Communication Organization of the Philippines (SCŌP) with the appointment of Dr. Francis Michael P. Yambao, Dean of the Graduate School, as its new President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Yambao’s induction marks CEU’s return to SCŌP’s top post after 18 years, last held in 2007 by Dr. Claire Z. Manalo.

He was formally sworn into office by veteran broadcast journalist Mariz Umali during SCŌP’s General Assembly and Election.

Founded in 1984, SCŌP is the Philippines’ pioneering national organization dedicated to advancing the academic and professional practice of speech communication.

As President, Dr. Yambao is expected to strengthen communication education and research across the country.
