THE CENTRO Escolar University moved the opening of classes from August 7 to September 14 to give students affected by typhoons time to recover.

In a Facebook post, CEU President Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina said the postponement of class opening will give the students time to prepare for Academic Year 2023-2024.

“In light of the recent inclement weather, we understand the challenges our students and their families may be facing. To provide everyone with ample time to cope and recover, adjustments in our school calendar is being made,” Padolina said.

“We value the safety and well-being of our students and aim to create an environment that fosters a positive learning experience,” she added.

Meanwhile, Padolina said that late enrollees will be accepted until August 19, 2023.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that 806,812 families or 3,031,909 individuals were affected by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoons Egay and Falcon.
