CENTRAL LUZON STATE U UNVEILS CENTER FOR PLANT DISEASES

/ 15 December 2022

THE CENTRAL Luzon State University has unveiled its new research building that will be a hub on the study of plant diseases.

The Plant Pests and Diseases Clinic Surveillance and Research Center is under the College of Agriculture.

The center is equipped with facilities for assessment and research on the biology of plant diseases and pest insects.

The two-story building “plays a vital role in the development of strategies to manage problems related to crop diseases that befall farmers in Nueva Ecija and the rest of the Philippines,” the university said.

CAg Dean Dr. Alona Badua said that collaborations with other agencies are being planned as CLSU aims to become a national research university.

“We need to deliver research and innovations that will address [the] problems of our farmers. In this way, we will be more relevant to the community which is one of the mandates of CLSU,” Badua said.
