TWO engineering students of the Cebu Technological University-Danao campus bagged the first and second prize in the recently concluded Central Visayas Regional Student Showdown Quiz Bee Competition.

Jomar Clarion and Wenwen Torremocha topped the regional tilt spearheaded by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc.

Clarion said that he overcame all his inhibitions to prove that being the youngest did not make him the weakest.

“Being a sophomore, I fulfilled my pursuit for a championship trophy apart from the cash prize. I was just fortunate to win with one point against my senior, Torremocha,”  Clarion said.

The students worked closely with mentors Jestoni Tan and Jury Monterola, faculty members in the said campus.

Those who joined the competition were students from the University of Visayas, University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, Cebu Institute of Technology-University, CTU Main and Tuburan campus, and University of San Carlos.
