THE CEBU Technological University announced  that the faculty member who conducted face-to-face classes despite the implementation of distance learning has been relieved.

It added that an investigation is ongoing regarding the matter.

“CTU administration remains highly committed to CHED regulations, especially pertaining to the new normal implementation of classes. The concerned faculty who allegedly violated protocols has been relieved from her position while undergoing due process,” CTU said on Facebook.

“We are doing our best to ensure the safety of the concerned veterinary students while remaining committed to the quality of education. We respectfully ask our stakeholders and the concerned individuals or organizations to be mindful in posting comments and information while investigation to determine accountability of the faculty concerned is ongoing,” it added.

The National Congress of Veterinary Medicine Students said that it filed a complaint with the Commission on Higher Education last month regarding the classes.

CTU was ordered to stop conducting face-to-face classes a day after, NCVMS said.

The complainant, John Louis N. Gonzales, National Director of NCVMS, questioned CTU’s announcement and asked for transparency.

He said that CTU should have at least provided a memorandum.

“Wouldn’t it be unfair to the dean if she’s the only staff under investigation, considering the fact that some administrators are obviously involved in the approval of such illegal activity?” Gonzales said on Facebook.

“The students, the biggest stakeholders of your university, deserve transparency. If no such transparency was shown, this will just be another blatant act to silence the voice of the students,” he added.
