THE CEBU Normal University and the Tarlac State University are among the top ranking state universities and colleges in the country in terms of accredited programs, according to the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.

AACCUP said that Cebu Normal University was listed as one of the top ranking SUCs because of its 100 percent rate in accredited programs.

Meanwhile, Tarlac State University was ranked with the most number of Level IV re-accredited programs, the highest in the accreditation hierarchy.

“Based on the consolidated and cumulative data from the AACUP from 1992 to 2019, the Tarlac State University has earned an admirable reputation and remarkable performance in the field of quality assurance through the accreditation system,” the university said.

Other schools included in the top 10 SUCs were Jose Rizal Memorial State University, Partido State University, Southern Leyte State University, Cagayan State University, Batangas State University, Mariano Marcos State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Eulogio Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology.

The ranking was presented in the agency’s annual publication, Consolidated List of Institutions and Programs Granted Accreditation Status, 1992-2019, which is an unabridged abstract of institutions and accredited programs.

Organized in 1987, AACCUP’s main function is the accreditation of curricular programs in the Philippines, particularly for state universities and colleges.

The agency is a member of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies, Inc., Asia-Pacific Quality Network which is based in Shanghai, China; International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education based in Barcelona, Spain; and Council for Higher Education Accreditation-International Quality Group in Washington, United States of America.
