CAVITE STATE U STUDENT NAMED BEST DELEGATE IN INT’L MODEL UNITED NATIONS PH

/ 5 February 2024

A STUDENT leader from the Cavite State University won an award in the International Model United Nations Philippines 2023, the school announced over the weekend.

Glenise Celis was named the Best Delegate of UNESCO during the conference.

“A Kabsuhenyo has taken the challenge to inspire change and transform the world,” CvSU said on its website.

For her achievement, Celis will be in Vietnam as part of the organizing committee for this year’s MUN in March.

She will also be at the University of Santo Tomas MUN as a delegate of the UN Security Council representing the United Kingdom.

During IMUN conferences, participants assume the roles of diplomats who represent different countries, and engage in discussions and negotiations.

As a simulation of the United Nations, the conference provides a platform for youth participants to gain more insights on international relations, and discuss and come up with diplomatic solutions to complex global issues. It also enables them, mostly students, to enhance their public speaking and critical thinking skills.
