CAVITE STATE U PARTNERS WITH CHED TO GIVE 70K FACEMASKS

/ 11 October 2020

THE CAVITE State University, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education, manufactured and distributed 70,000 washable face masks to communities in need.

Through Project MASKS or the “Manufacture and Distribution of Adequate Facemasks for the Safety of Key Personnel and Various FrontlinerS”, CvSU said its efforts will help curb the spread of Covid19.

The masks were distributed to frontliners, children and senior citizens.

The CvSU also said its three-month long project helped provide jobs for displaced workers as it tapped 30 local tailors to produce the facemasks. Eight utility workers were also hired for the packaging of the product.

It also helped with its  Covid19 information drive as it added instructional materials for the proper usage and washing of the said masks.

School officials also helped with the packaging of the facemasks.

Meanwhile, the CvSU also made pedal-controlled alcohol dispensers and wash stations to help sanitize and lessen the spread of the virus with other employees.

Classes in the Cavite school started on Monday last week using a flexible learning scheme.
