CATANDUANES State University-College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUMSS) has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to conduct an ACOS Project Technical Skills Development Training at San Isidro, Bagamanoc, Catanduanes.
The training will focus on giving knowledge and skills necessary in Kakanin making to provide individuals a way through economic sustainability.
Various aspects will be included in the training such as kakanin preparation and production, its traditional recipes, modern techniques and presentation, and marketing strategies.
“Kakanin, a delightful array of Filipino rice cakes, holds a special place in the hearts and palates of Catandunganons,” the school said.
The initiative was made because of the university’s recognition of the cultural significance and economic empowerment that kakanin offers to individuals of the community.
“It [initiative] also aligns with TESDA’s mission to provide accessible and quality technical-vocational education and training,” the university added.
CatSU reiterated that the training highlights the shared commitment of the CHUMSS and TESDA to enhance the livelihood of the community with skills development.
