THE CATANDUANES State University has been chosen to receive funding from the British Council in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education to implement a program that aims to enhance the use of English as medium of instruction in higher education institutions.

CatSU said that it was the only state-sponsored school in Bicol chosen for the program.

“Through the English-medium education (EME) training, Philippine HEIs are expected to have a strengthened delivery of content in English which reinforces the internationalization-at-home agenda and become more competitive in the global setting, an improved human resource capacity in HEIs to mainstream blended learning, an increased capacity of HEIs to open its doors for internationalization activities, and increased quality and breadth of HEI strategies and activities in the Philippines,” CatSU said on its website.

Trainers from the United Kingdom will be provided for the project.

The program will run for one-and-a half years.
