CARAGA STATE U GETS P10-M GRANT FROM CHED

/ 9 August 2023

THE CARAGA State University has received P10 million funding from the Commission on Higher Education for its infrastructure development and other projects.

“The granted funding will be utilized to bolster CSU’s Engineering Laboratories, with a specific focus on enhancing microelectronics, renewable energy, robotics and automation, and mining engineering and technology,” CSU said.

“One of the project’s key objectives is to reduce the university’s electricity costs by installing a solar power system while providing necessary laboratory equipment for renewable energy and allied courses,” it added.

Through the funding, CSU said half of the 50 computers will address the university’s counterpart for the Center for Integrated Circuit and Device Research project.

The initiative is a collaborative research by the University of the Philippines and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, among others.

“Other computers will be installed with simulation software for mining engineering utilization. The rest of the equipment will further the university’s effort in designing and prototyping machines and tools to improve processes and increase productivity,” the school said.
