/ 11 February 2022

THE CAGAYAN State University has partnered with the National Taiwan Ocean University for agricultural programs, including fishery and marine biology.

CSU President Urdujah Alvarado and National Taiwan Ocean University President Tai-Wen Hsu signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize their partnership.

“The partnership is forged to give way to the promotion of other cooperation in capacity-building programs for faculty and students through flagship programs in fisheries and exchanges in faculty and students in agriculture and marine biology programs,” Urduja said.

NTOU was known as the Provincial Taiwan Maritime Technology College before becoming a maritime college in 1964.

Its colleges of marine science and management, biological sciences, ocean science and resource management, engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, humanities and social sciences, and ocean law and policy all provide courses with a distinct ocean and maritime focus.

Meanwhile, CSU has at least 17 colleges with eight separate sites in Cagayan province, offering courses in fisheries and aquatic science, and agriculture in the departments of animal and crop science.
