THE POLICE in Bicol are on red alert after two explosions rocked the Bicol University in Legazpi City, Albay on Sunday, October 3.

The blasts at around 7 p.m. happened in front of the Ricardo A. Arcilla building, near the building of the Supply Management Office, PDMO and BU Guestel.

No casualties were reported. Authorities have yet to determine the motive and the suspect behind the explosion.

BU President Arnulfo Mascariñas issued a memorandum directing all personnel of main campus and Daraga campus to conduct work-from-home arrangement on October 4, 2021.

“This is to ensure the safety and security of all personnel, as well as to give way for the inspection of the respective campus premises and for the thorough investigation of authorities regarding the recent explosions,” Mascariñas said.

The Explosives and Ordnance Group of the Philippine National Police is investigating the incident.
