BIPSU TO CREATE CENTER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN EDUCATION

THE BILIRAN Province State University is set to establish a Center for Human Rights in Education on its campus grounds.

BiPSU said that this is to highlight its commitment to uphold human rights in the academe.

According to the university, this step is “signifying a step forward in BiPSU’s commitment to upholding human rights within the educational sphere,” BiPSU said on Facebook.

A meeting between BiPSU officials and Atty. Desiree V. Pontejos, Regional Director of the Commission on Human Rights was conducted on Thursday and confirmed the plan for the new center.

A Memorandum of Agreement is set to be signed between CHR and BiPSU on March 20 in Tacloban City for the project.

According to the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, the CHRE designs and implements human rights education for students and helps to assist agencies in their human rights and education programs.
