/ 24 October 2022

THE BILIRAN Province State University denounced the unauthorized use of its trademarks on social media pages.

The university made the statement after it saw several Facebook pages including the “BIPSU Confessions” which propagates “mockery, misinformation, and disinformation.”

“Inasmuch as we recognize the right to free speech and expression and the right to information, however, we cannot stand any mockery, misinformation, and disinformation propagated through these pages,” BiPSU said.

“We will not allow anyone to ruin the very good name of our one and only State University in the Province. We have been producing global workforce and been receiving international accolades not just to be tarnished by these individuals who make fun of the university,” it added.

BiPSU said it plans to take legal action against the individuals behind the page.

It added that it welcomes any information about the identities of the individuals behind the pages. Any informant will be compensated with money.

“May this serve as a stern warning to those who will intend to use the good name of BiPSU in any fraudulent or deceptive actions including entertainment purposes that instigate bullying in any form. We will and must take legal actions at all cost to sanction these wicked individuals,” the university said.
