FOR its contribution to the country’s efforts to address the pandemic, the Biliran Province State University made it to the list of top 50 World Universities with Real Impact for 2021.

Schools that joined the ranking were assessed based on their actual contributions to society.

The university was ranked 26th for its project titled “Improvised Aerosol/Intubation Boxes for Hospitals and Covid-19 Health Facilities.”

It was the first time that BIPSU participated in the WURI.

The other Philippine universities included in the list are the Far Eastern University that was ranked 12th, and the Cebu Normal University that took the 14th spot.

BiPSU said that its ranking “is a testament to the application of best practices for transforming higher education to not only survive but thrive in this uncertain time.”

“In order to have a long-term influence in the region, the university’s responsive leadership and management not only adapted its academic system to meet changing demands but also improved its administrative procedures to harmonize the entire system with the university’s vision and aspirations,” it said on Facebook.
