THE STUDENT council of the Bicol University in Legazpi City, Albay appealed for academic ease following Monday’s elections.

“We implore the BU administration to recognize the electoral impropriety that is afflicting the country because a failure of justice is a burden that every citizen must bear,” the student council said.

It raised concern over the alleged election anomalies, saying these were “outright attacks to our democratic rights and active fight for our future.”

The council also asked students to defend the university and country from the threat of dictatorship.

“We must concentrate our efforts on mobilizing, defending, and protecting our country’s democracy,” it said.
