THE Benguet State University recovered its Facebook page after being hacked last January 25.

BSU’s Facebook page which boasts 76,000 likes and 90,000 followers is a crucial source of official communication among its constituents in the digital age.

“We have recovered this page and will be merging it with the one recently created,” BSU said in a statement.

BSU said it sought the help of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center and several individuals from the Ifugao State University for the recovery of the hacked FB page.

It can be noted IFSU’s Facebook page was also hacked and recently recovered last month.

“To our dear followers, rest assured that we have learned a big lesson from the experience and upgraded this page’s security settings as well as our office protocols so that this will not happen again,” it added.
