ATENEO READY TO ABIDE BY GOV’T GUIDELINES ON LIMITED F2F CLASSES
ATENEO de Manila University on Saturday announced the holding of limited physical classes in tertiary level is still subject to the guidelines of the national and local government.
“(ADMU) will abide by national and local government guidelines regarding any eventual campus reopening of limited face-to-face classes,” the school said in an advisory.
“The University will make the necessary announcements at the appropriate time,” it added.
On Friday, the Commission on Higher Education announced limited in-person classes in all degree programs have been allowed for up to 50 percent capacity in areas under Alert Level 2.
CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera III said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases gave the green light provided that schools will follow three conditions, namely students, faculty, and employees must be vaccinated; the local government is okay with it; and facilities must be retrofitted and inspected.
Initially, in-person classes were only for those taking up medicine as well as allied health sciences.
Last September, President Rodrigo Duterte approved CHED’s request to expand face-to-face classes to Engineering and Technology, Hospitality/Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism/Travel Management, Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation.
