ATENEO PUBLIC HEALTH EXPERT NAMED 2025 LOURDES CAMPOS AWARDEE
AN ATENEO de Manila University research scientist has been named the 2025 recipient of the Lourdes Campos Award for Public Health by the Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (PhilAAST).
Dr. Dennis Batangan, a medical doctor, public health specialist, and researcher, was officially announced as the awardee on August 11, 2025.
The Lourdes Campos Award for Public Health recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field through research, policy, and practice.
PhilAAST said Dr. Batangan’s selection highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen research-based public health initiatives in the Philippines and underscores the importance of evidence-driven approaches in addressing the country’s health challenges.
The award will be formally conferred during the 74th Annual PhilAAST Convention on September 12, 2025, at the Manila Hotel. A press conference featuring Dr. Batangan and other honorees will be held a day earlier, September 11, at the Philippine Science High School in Quezon City.
