ATENEO HUMAN RIGHTS CENTER OFFERS ONLINE INTERNSHIP FOR LAW STUDENTS

/ 30 October 2020

THE ATENEO Human Rights Center partnered with Silliman University School of Law to conduct a virtual internship with a non-governmental organization for law students.

Themed “AHON: SEMBREAK INTERNSHIP 2021”, the internship will start on January 4, 2021.

“Unlike any other training or webinar, the Sembreak Internship aims to teach the law through actual policy and legal work in public interest cases and advocacies,” SLU’s School of Law said.

“The program aims to introduce an alternative perspective of the concept of lawyering and legal work to encompass pressing social issues and Access to Justice Situation in the country,” it added.

Interns will undergo a dynamic basic orientation seminar on the basics of client interview, paralegal training, and community engagement. They will be assigned to a non-government organization for the internship.

The internship will also provide an opportunity for legal work and advocacy, highlighting the importance of human rights in the legal system.
