ATENEO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AMONG TOP 25 IN LEGOLAND SCHOOL CHALLENGE

/ 25 September 2025

STUDENTS of the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School ranked among the Top 25 in Asia at the 2025 Legoland Malaysia School Challenge, competing in the Primary and Secondary divisions.

This year’s theme, “Dream Destination,” tasked students to create LEGO builds of an ideal place to visit—whether real or imagined.

The Juniors Team—Marcus Crisostomo, Lara Bumatay, Marc Tiongson, and Teo Isidro—built a vibrant Tubbataha Reef scene complete with corals, marine life, and a majestic whale shark to highlight the reef’s biodiversity.

The Seniors Team—Gavin Mallari, Kico Bravo, and Seth Rocha—presented a detailed Martian space base featuring satellites, space vehicles, and a towering traffic control center, envisioning humanity’s future in space exploration.

Hundreds of students from seven Asia-Pacific countries joined the challenge, which received more than 4,000 entries. The Top 25 were announced on August 22, 2025, with finalists revealed on September 3 and grand winners on September 23.

Guided by coaches Jason Arias, Joel Falgui, and Lavi Subang, the AJHS teams celebrated their Top-25 finish—an achievement that will soon be showcased when their LEGO builds go on public display in the AJHS Library after Teen Read Week.
