ASCOT PROVIDES MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING ON POLICE FORCE
THE Aurora State College of Technology will give mental health services to the police force of the province to help safeguard their well-being.
ASCOT stressed the need to help the police force avail of mental health services, noting this will help them with coping mechanisms and stress management techniques while on duty.
“This initiative aims to equip officers with essential coping mechanisms, stress management techniques, and resources to navigate the demands of their profession while safeguarding their mental well-being,” ASCOT said on its Facebook page.
“This partnership underscores ASCOT’s commitment to supporting the holistic health of its partner agencies, particularly the police force, by recognizing the inherent stressors and traumas associated with law enforcement duties,” it added.
The college signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Aurora Provincial Police Office for the initiative on Monday.
ASCOT added this will help towards ‘acknowledging and destigmatizing mental health challenges among first responders.’
