AIM PRESIDENT TO LEAD AACSB BOARD

/ 9 July 2021

JIKYEONG Kang, the president and dean of the Asian Institute of Management, will serve as the board chair of AACSB International, the world’s largest and most prestigious business education alliance and accreditation body.

“As a long-time volunteer of AACSB, I am honored to serve as chair of the board of directors during this pivotal time for business education,” Kang said.

“Access to high-quality business education has the potential to create meaningful, lasting impact worldwide, and I believe AACSB is well-positioned to lead this effort. I look forward to joining my colleagues on the board of directors in this exciting endeavor,” she added.

Kang is the first AACSB board chair from an Asia Pacific business school since its inception in 1916. She is also the first female president of the AIM.

AIM is the only school in the Philippines with AACSB accreditation — one of the first 10 schools to be accredited in Asia.

Kang also holds key positions in other international organizations. She is a board member of the European Foundation for Management Development; a council member of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools; and a board member of the Principles for Responsible Management Education, which was founded in 2007, supported by the United Nations Global Compact. She is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Management.

“Jikyeong brings a diverse, global perspective to AACSB and a deep understanding of the connections between business education and the business community. We look forward to her inspiring and thoughtful leadership as we focus on driving positive societal impact and furthering AACSB’s diversity and inclusion efforts, worldwide,” said Caryn Beck-Dudley, president and CEO of AACSB.
