AACUP ACCREDITS 6 PUP PROGRAMS

SIX programs of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines passed the Online Accreditation Survey Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.

The programs accredited by AACUP were Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Bachelor of Performing Arts Major in Theater, and Bachelor of Arts in Communication Research.

It also accredited the university’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

“The online survey visit was composed of 10 accreditors from various Philippine SUCs. The team evaluated the documents in 10 areas for Level II Accreditation and one to three remaining areas for the Level IV Phase I (revisit) programs,” PUP said.

Organized in 1987, AACCUP’s main function is the accreditation of curricular programs in the Philippines, particularly in state universities and colleges.

The agency is a member of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies, Inc., Asia-Pacific Quality Network which is based in Shanghai, China; International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education based in Barcelona, Spain; and Council for Higher Education Accreditation-International Quality Group in Washington, United States of America.

The group gives accreditation to an institution that maintains a certain level of educational standards.
