67 TARLAC STATE U SHS STUDENTS GRADUATE WITH HONORS

/ 16 July 2023

SIXTY-seven Grade 12 students of the Tarlac State University Laboratory School graduated with honors for Academic Year 2022-2023.

The students are under the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand.

Fifteen of them were awarded with high honors, while the remaining received their SHS diplomas with honors.

They are the pioneering LS batch after the reinstitution of secondary school in 2021.

James Karl Lagman, an outstanding student with the highest grades, expressed his gratitude and shared the strategies he used to excel academically.

“I wanted to make my parents proud by being an achiever in academics. [So] I started to change my lifestyle. I created a schedule by spending time reviewing, and most of all, I gave up my passion, which is gaming, so [that] I can focus on my studies,” TSU quoted Lagman as saying.

Guest speaker Dr. David Marco A. Bildan, an alumnus of TSU LS, shared his academic journey and provided valuable advice on setting goals for achieving excellence and resilience.

“When you have a personal goal, you have that internal motivation to achieve it. Meron kang accountability sasarili mo na may gusto kang ma-achieve. Therefore, this internal motivation will translate into actions that will eventually help you reach your dreams,” he said.

Bildan currently works as general physician in Tarlac. He ranked tenth in the 2022 Physician Licensure Exam and second in the February 2017 Medical Technologist Licensure Exam.
