6 ILIGAN CITY STUDENTS SHINE IN INT’L MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD IN THAILAND
SIX students from Iligan City won the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad and brought home four silver medals and two bronze medals.
The participants in the said Olympiad, held last April 26 to 28, were Kindergarten to Grade 5 students from different schools in the city such as Central School, Tambo Central School, and Suarez Central School.
The local government, through the local school board, provided P40,000 for each participant.
Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao said that the local government’s support paid off as they won the competition.
The mayor also expressed gratitude to these students as they brought honor to the City of Iligan.
TIMO is an annual Mathematical Olympiad competition organized by the Olympiad Champion Education Center and the Thailand Mathematics Society.
