THE TAGALAG Elementary School and Disiplina Village Elementary School in Valenzuela City held a simulation of limited face-to-face classes on Monday, November 29,  Mayor Rex Gatchalian said.

Gatchalian said that only the two schools were given the green light to hold physical classes.

In-person classes will start in the city on December 6.

“Dalawa pa lang ang recommended natin for the limited F2F classes — DV Bignay ES at Tagalag ES pa lang. Hindi rin lahat ay puwede na mag-F2F dahil limited lamang ito sa Kinder to Grade 3 tapos 16-17 students lamang ang maaaring nasa loob ng classroom,” the mayor explained.

“Hindi rin naman ito compulsary. Voluntary pa rin at dapat may parent’s consent. Kung ayaw po ninyo papasukin anak ninyo sa face-to-face, you can go with the distance learning pa rin at mag- modules po kayo,” he said.

Last week, the Department of Education said that it is eyeing at least 28 schools to hold physical classes in Metro Manila.

Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan shared that the department has an agreement with Metro Manila mayors that there will be at least one school in a city that will resume limited F2F classes.

“In view of the improving Covid19 situation in the country, the DepEd and the Department of Health have endorsed to the Office of the President to give them greater flexibility in increasing the number of schools that can conduct physical classes. It was approved provided that we still keep it in the pilot stage,” Malaluan said.
