TWO academic institutions in the Philippines made it to the list of the world’s best universities by subject released by Quacquarelli Symonds, an international higher education information provider.

The 2021 QS University Rankings by Subject placed De La Salle University in the 201-250 bracket for Linguistics, and 351-400 bracket for Business and Management Studies.

DLSU was featured in other six subject rankings.

Among the subjects are English and Literature in 151-200; Modern Languages, 301-330; Chemical Engineering, 351-400 rank; Arts and Humanities, 323=; Social Sciences and Management, 377=; and Economics and Econometrics, 500-520.

Meanwhile, the Ateneo de Manila University improved its English Language and Literature rankings in 151-200 bracket while it maintained its ranking for Modern Languages at 201-250.

For Business and Management Studies, the university was ranked in the 401-450 bracket.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates universities’ performance in 51 subject areas. It aims to help “prospective students identify the world’s leading schools in their chosen field in response to high demand for subject-level comparisons.”

According to QS, the rankings are “based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.”
