/ 8 March 2024

A TOTAL of 158 teacher-scholars from the Department of Education in Pasig City have completed the Certificate in Science Teaching program offered by the College of Education of the University of Santo Tomas.

UST said the post-baccalaureate program was conducted from October 2022 to March 2023.

The program provided junior and senior high school public school teachers with 27 units of science content specialization, science pedagogy, science research, and technology courses to further enhance their teaching competencies.

A completion ceremony was held at the Frassati Auditorium, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, OP Building last month to mark the program’s culmination, according to the university.

The event was attended by Pasig City Lone District Rep. and Chair of the House Committee on Education and Culture Rep. Roman T. Romulo and other officials of UST and DepEd Pasig.

“During the ceremony, UST College of Education Assistant Dean and CST Project Lead Louie B. Dasas, Ph.D., and DepEd SDO Pasig City Superintendent Dr. Sheryll Gayola shared their thoughts on the project’s successful completion,” the school said.

“They expressed gratitude towards the Pasig LGU and the collaborating units such as the UST College of Science, UST Educational Technology Center, and the UST Center for Innovative Teaching and Educational Delivery for their support and assistance,” it added.
