12 IFSU FACULTY RECOGNIZED AS INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATORS
TWELVE teaching employees of the Ifugao State University were recognized as Indigenous Knowledge Educators who will protect Ifugao heritage and culture.
The educators graduated from the Satoyama Meister Training Program of the university.
They are Regina G. Gano of Hapao campus; Alma D. Tayaban, Dr. Desiree Gume G. Nangpuhan, Dr. Eilene B. Bugnay, Frances N. Tuguinay, Kristel T. Mission, Dr. Marites D. Bumidang, Maritess K. Alberto, Rolly Keth B. Nabanalan and Dr. Teroy D. Pacliw of Lamut campus; Eric D. Bimmoy of Potia campus; and Dr. Leticia D. Guinsiman of Tinoc campus.
They developed 13 Instructional Materials on IK studies and completed 966 hours of training on the Ifugao Indigenous Knowledge Educators Training Program under the Center for Taiwan-Philippines Indigenous and Local Knowledge and Sustainable Studies.
IFSU President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon said that the new set of IK educators will be of great help in developing IP education.
Seven Ifugao Rice Terraces meisters have also graduated from the ISTMP to help with the preservation of the terraces.
