RSG PH SENDS ONIC PH TO LOWER BRACKET IN SIBOL QUALIFIERS
RSG Philippines knocked M3 world championship finalists Onic PH and sent them to the lower bracket of the Sibol Mobile Legends: Bang Bang SEA Games preliminaries with a 3-1 win on Friday afternoon.
The appalling outcome of RSG and Onic PH battle intercepted the potential rematch of the M3 World Championship.
RSG carried on the split push of Onic with a great strategy of their players from Arvie “Aqua” Antonio, Dylan “Light” Catipon, and Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa who used Kagura, Khufra, and Ruby, respectively.
In game one, Onic already took down five turrets of RSG within 8 minutes; even though RSG Mark “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Clint and Allen Jedric “Baloyskie” Baloy’s Lylia stood the defense of their line up, it was not enough as Onic dominated the first game.
Then in game 2, Joshwell Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog’s Popol and Kupa used the advantage of lead in gold, combined with the little jungle from Hatred’s Hayabusa led RSG to tie the lead.
In Game 3, RSG followed the same old strategies, limiting Onic PH to a single kill and putting themselves at match point.
Kenneth “Kenji” Villa’s Esmeralda in game 3 was of great help due to its ult damage, and the 2019 SEA Games gold medallist remained a key player as he used Ruby to slow down Onic’s Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales’ Ling in game 4.
RSG proved their shocking dominance as the team showcased how sneaky Aqua’s Kagura can be, and combined with the gameplay of Demonkite’s picks with Bane, Hayabusa, Fanny, and Balmond.
On Saturday, RSG Philippines will play Blacklist International for the first grand finals berth, while Onic PH will face the victor of the match between Origen Esports and Omega Esports at the lower bracket.
