KEMARK CARIÑO TURNS PRO, SIGNS WITH AOMORI WAT’S
Kemark Cariño is the latest Filipino prospect to make the switch to professional basketball, playing for Aomori Wat's in the B.League Division II.
The announcement was made by the team on Wednesday with Titans Management Group facilitating the signing.
With Cariño turning pro, he will be foregoing his last two years with the San Beda University.
In 49 games with the San Beda Red Lions, the 6-foot-8 big man averaged 2.18 points and 1.17 rebounds.
He suited up for the national team in the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in Bahrain, averaging three points, three rebounds, and one assist in two games.
The 23-year-old is currently training with the Gilas Pilipinas Men’s team at the bubble at Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna in preparation for the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup.
Cariño will compete in the B.League Division 2 alongside Juan Gomez de Liaño of Earth Friends Tokyo Z, while Thirdy Ravena and Javi Gomez de Liaño will compete in Division 1 under contracts with San-En Neophoenix and Ibaraki Robots, respectively.
