Cinemalaya opens its applications for Scriptwriting Workshops for Film which will be conducted by award-winning screenwriter Ricky Lee.

Under the Cinemalaya Institute Training Programs, Lee will hold two online scriptwriting workshops– 3-hour Cinemalaya Scriptwriting Masterclass in April 2021, and the Cinemalaya Intensive Scriptwriting Workshop from May to June 2021.

The Cinemalaya Scriptwriting Masterclass, which will focus on the foundations of storytelling for film that will be held on April 14 while the intensive scriptwriting will be  from May 26 to July 14.

Both workshops are free of charge and applicants may apply to both workshops.

These workshops for are part of Cinemalaya’s new vision in the new normal as it redefines its direction and strategy while remaining significant and continuing to fulfill its mission of discovering, encouraging, supporting, training and recognizing gifted Filipino independent filmmakers.

The workshop is limited to 30 participants/scholars who have gone through a selection process.

As a requirement, applicants should submit a 1-2 page storyline and a writer’s intention for the material.
