MANILA LAUNCHES FREE MILK PROGRAM FOR DAYCARE STUDENTS

/ 14 January 2026

THE MANILA  City government has begun distributing free fresh milk to daycare students across the city as part of its efforts to improve child nutrition and support healthy growth.

The program, dubbed “Yormilk,” was officially launched on January 12 during a ceremony at Barangay 137 in Balut, Tondo, led by Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso.

Under the initiative, 21,633 daycare students in Manila will receive fresh milk three times a week to help strengthen their health and physical development.

Moreno emphasized the city’s commitment to prioritizing children’s welfare, saying the local government will continue funding programs that ensure proper nutrition for young Manileños.

Joining the mayor at the launch were Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, councilors from Manila’s First District, Manila Health Department Officer-in-Charge Dr. Grace Padilla, Manila Department of Social Welfare and Development Director Jay dela Fuente, and representatives from the National Dairy Authority and the Department of Health.

City officials said the free milk distribution is part of Manila’s broader campaign to address malnutrition among children and promote early interventions that support long-term health and learning outcomes.
