PBBM SIGNS LAWS ESTABLISHING NEW HIGH SCHOOLS IN LEYTE, RIZAL, SORSOGON
PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has signed into law measures establishing new national high schools and converting elementary schools into integrated schools in Leyte, Rizal, and Sorsogon.
Republic Act (RA) 12255 establishes the Doos del Norte National High School in Hindang, Leyte, while RA 12258 creates the Tanay National Science High School in Rizal.
Marcos also signed RA 12257, converting Alegria Elementary School in Barcelona, Sorsogon, into the Alegria Integrated School, and RA 12259, transforming Patag Elementary School in Irosin, Sorsogon, into the Patag Integrated School.
Under the laws, all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of the converted schools will be transferred to and absorbed by the integrated schools.
The Department of Education has been tasked to operationalize the newly established and upgraded schools, with funding to be sourced from the annual General Appropriations Act.
